Merry Christmas!

I know, I'm a little late in posting my "Merry Christmas" post but I guess it's better late than never. Right??

My Christmas was fantastic! Mommy and Daddy opened some presents in the morning then took me out for a little drive. We went out looking at Christmas lights and the train was by far, my favorite.

Mommy and Daddy got these crazy sticky mustache's from the Rossings and mommy thought it'd be a GREAT idea to take our holiday picture with them. She's crazy!!! But, daddy and I go along with her insane ideas just to keep her happy. I won't bother posting the picture. She posted it on her blog if you haven't seen it already.

Mommy got really sick the day after Christmas. I spent the whole day snuggling with her and keeping her company. Everybody else was pretty lazy too =)

I love winter break!

Wow, we've had so many adventures while mommy & daddy have been home! It's been fun hanging out with them this last week. I can't believe I have another week with them here at home all day! YES!

Over break I've learned a new trick. It's called the popcorn trick. Daddy taught me how to hold a piece of popcorn on my nose and then flip it in the air and eat it. My parents are pretty impressed that I can wait so long without eating the popcorn.


Today Dude had to go to the vet for her shots. I was worried that my parents were sending her home. Thank goodness they weren't! We're just starting to be friends! Next week I get to go to the Vet with Dude so I can get my shots. What an adventure that will be!

Tonight was boy's night. My friend Paul came over and played with me for a bit. We ordered pizza and I got to clean out the box. YUMMY!

P.S. Grampy~Dude's doing well. She's been sleeping most of the day but is eating and drinking just fine. Doesn't seem to be sick at all. Mommy & Daddy keep talking about how well she did at the Vet's today. Apparently, they're pretty impressed at how mellow she was with the doctor and how snuggly she was with them after her shots. She's not so bad for a cat...dogs are still way cooler, though.

Play time!

Mommy & Daddy came home on Friday and told me that it's the start of their winter break! That means they'll be home for the next two weeks and we'll have lots of time to snuggle & play together!

Lately Dude has been pretty mellow. We all seem to be getting along well and I think she's starting to feel more comfortable here with us. She really seems to like hanging out with mommy while she's making jewelry.
Today mommy was getting something out of the closet and Dude crawled in there and was looking at all of mommy's craft supplies. I had no idea this cat was so crafty!

I think she likes me ;-)

Look what Dude brought me! A bird, A bird!!! My parents said that they didn't even think there were any birds left for her to catch but she managed to find one. She brought it home (I'm sure it was to give to me!!) but daddy caught her before she made it inside and he threw the bird in the woods.

The best Saturday EVER!

This Saturday was so wonderful! I snuggled in bed with Mommy & Daddy for a while and then we drove out to St. Therese for a walk. There were a ton of good smells out there and I ran, jumped and explored like crazy!

My parents went to Western Auto for some stuff and came out with a new toy for me! They bought me a duck that is supposed to be indestructable. I LOVE ducks and manage to destroy all of them that they buy me. This one is pretty tough though. So far I've only been able to chew threw the wings.

Also, Dude let me sniff her without hissing at me! What a great Saturday!

Looks like they're getting along just fine...

Hmmm, Dude and I still aren't best friends but she seems to be getting along well with Linus. I want a new dog so that I can have a friend too!

Dear Santa,
I've been really good this year and would like it if you'd bring me a dog to play with. You see, my friend Linus just got a new cat and they're getting along great. However, I feel pretty left out these days. If you could please bring me a new dog friend I'd appreciate it. And I promise to be good next year too!

He didn't do it right..

Clint took really good care of me while Mommy & Daddy were gone. However, they came home last night and I didn't even know they were coming. You see, when Molly watches me she tells me that they're coming and she takes me to the airport with her. I LOVE going to the airport when we're there to pick people up and Molly knows that. Clint did a good job but it wasn't the same as Molly.

Dear Mommy & Daddy...

I miss you guys a lot. When are you coming home? Clint takes good care of me. He gives me food just like you showed him how, takes me potty just like you do and gives me lots of loves. HOWEVER, it's not the same as when you're here.
Mommy, I miss curling up next to your tummy at night. Daddy, I miss licking your back. Please come home soon......

Dude sightings...

Dude's been coming out a lot more often these days. She likes to crawl on top of the fridge and watch mommy cook. The door to the guest bedroom was shut tonight and she started jumping on the handle to get out...funny how just a few days ago she didn't want to leave that room. She's finally stopped hissing at me and now just ignores me. Grampy, check out mommy's blog for her Linus posting.

I think mommy and daddy are leaving for a while. My friend, Clint, came over tonight and mommy told him how to take care of me and the cats. I sure am going to miss my parents but Clint will take good care of me. Mommy forgot to tell him when I get treats, though. She'd better fill him in tomorrow-I need my potty treats!

Snowy Sunday

This week has gone by so fast! I spend all my time sleeping and before I know it it's Sunday again!

Last night we got a new dump of snow in Juneau. Fresh snow is definitely my favorite. As soon as we woke up this morning my Mommy called her friend and we all went for a walk at Twin Lakes. Mommy let me off my leash and so I could run all over the place in the fresh snow!

This is now Dude's 5th day at my house and I still haven't seen much of her. She came out when mommy was cooking shrimp. Mommy gave her a piece and she LOVED it. I love shrimp too and wish mom would make it more often! Dude has finally moved from the guest bedroom window and found a place in daddy's closet. She curls up on his sweatshirts and sleeps there for hours.

WednesdaY

I pretend like I don't like him but sometimes I can't help but snuggle up with Linus and mommy or daddy.

This is day 1 of Dude's visit and I haven't seen her much at all. Last night she locked herself in mommy & daddy's bedroom and hid in their closet. Today she found a new hiding spot. She likes to hide in the guest bedroom and look out the window. She came out to eat dinner but wouldn't play with me. She won't even talk to me...all I get these days are hisses. I remember when Dude was a kitten and would snuggle and play with me. I miss those days

On the plus side, Linus still loves Dude's kennel. =)

Dude's here..

This is my friend Dude. She's Grampy & Grammy's cat so I guess that'd make her my Aunt??? She flew in tonight to stay with us for the winter while Grammy & Grampy travel. I was SOO excited to see her! I whined and wagged my nub like crazy! I don't think Dude shared my excitement because when I tried sniffing her she hissed at me and hid under the bench.

Linus seems to like her kennel and has crawled in there for the evening. I think I might try it out later, too. Wonder if I can fit my beagle-belly in there??

Sundays are the best...

Sundays are starting to have their own routine at our house. We wake up and snuggle while mommy drinks coffee and reads the news online. After that she starts some laundry. I LOVE laundry days because right after the clothes come out of the drier mom throws them on the bed so that I can snuggle in them. There is NOTHING better that burrowing down into clean warm clothes. After that we usually go for an afternoon walk or drive. Today we walked down to Twin Lakes. My mom let me off my leash and I ran in circles as fast as I could. There were so many new smells I couldn't take them all in at once!

Mom usually talks to grammy Pam on Sundays, too. This Sunday I found out that my cat-friend, Dude is coming to visit on Tuesday. She's staying for a few months while grammy & grampy travel for the winter. I wonder if she'll play with me and chase me all over the house.

What a great Sunday...I'm not ready for my parents to go back to work tomorrow. It's so nice having them at home with me.

Oh, the weather outside is frightful!

I went outside yesterday morning to pee and was suprised by a fresh coat of snow on the ground. I LOVE the snow! My favorite part of winter is chasing snowflakes and jumping in huge snowpiles. I hope my mom will take me snowshoeing as soon as there's enough snow on the ground!
This morning I went outside and it was CRAZY windy and rainy! Mommy had to wake up early to proctor tests at the highschool but as soon as she left the power went out. She came back a few minutes later and told me that testing had to be rescheduled. We crawled back into bed and slept for a few hours. It was so nice to cuddle with mommy and daddy in our big warm bed...ahhh.

One more reason to love Aunt Molly

She gave me the whole piece of my jerky treat after our walk together last night. Mom and Dad usually break off a small piece for me. I do love my Aunt Molly =)

Playing

My week has been kindof boring. Usually, Mom tries to take me for walks every night but it's been so rainy and gross out lately that we've skipped a lot of walks. I can usually go a day or two without a good walk but after about three days I start having lots of energy that just needs to get out!!!

Finally, on Thursday I got some play time. My Molly friend came over and walked with me and Mom even though it was windy and rainy. Then, when I came home my Paul friend was here and he played with me too! It was nice to get out some of my crazy energy and have fun! Playing is definitely the best...I think more humans should try it.

Happy Halloween....I guess...

Mommy and Daddy left me home alone tonight. They got all dressed up and headed out the door. I thought Halloween was supposed to be fun. I thought maybe we'd have friends over and I could beg for food and impress them with my tricks. Mommy told me that they were going to a couple of parties and that dogs weren't allowed.

While they were gone I decided to find my own costume and have a little fun with the camera.

Mommy and Daddy were dumb enough to leave a bag of dum-dums on the bench this morning. I dug and dug, tore and tore, chewed and chewed my way through the bag just so I could enjoy a few suckers. Don't people know that dogs like halloween candy too?

MOLLY!!!!

I LOVE my aunt Molly. She always gives me lots of loves and attention (and she says she not a dog person...). Molly came over for a few minutes tonight before her and Mommy went to their belly-dancing class. I'm not sure what belly-dancing is but I'm really glad she came over for a little while!

Bath Time!

Um, I had a little too much fun on my hike with Elsi up Salmon Creek. I managed to find some bear poop that I could roll in. My mommy was so mad when we got to the car. When we got home she told me to go straight to the tub and I could tell she was not in the mood to mess around.

She washed me down pretty good then snuggled with me and told me I was too cute to be mad at.

My new friend, Elsi....

I have a new friend named Elsi. She is white with brown spots like me but she's much bigger and can run REALLY fast! She likes to put the smack down and try to dominate me. I put up with it for a while but when she starts annoying me I break out the Rosco-growl and put her in her place. I'll ask mommy to take a picture of us together.

New Tricks!

Last night I learned some new tricks! I've been practicing standing on my back legs and I'm doing great! My leg muscles are getting so strong. Mommy & Daddy think that soon I'll be able to stand up straight when I beg for food instead of sitting on my butt!

I'm also learning to dance. Daddy and I danced a little last night and it's so fun! I like spinning and leaping in the air. Aunt Molly, can I go to the next dance at DZ??

It's always all about you! You're soooo cute, you're sooooo smart, you're soooooo lovable!!! I get tired of hearing mommy & daddy talk about how woooonderful you are. I'm cute too! I'm smart too! I'm lovable TOOO! So, I've hijacked your little blog and have a few things to tell your readers about Linus!!!

1. Mommy fell in love with me as soon as she saw me at the humane society.

Friends RoCk!

I love it when mommy and daddy invite their friends over to our house. Their friends always get so excited about the little tricks that I can do. I do this cute little trick where I sit on my bottom and beg for food. People think it's hilarious and sometimes they'll even give me their people food! Last night when Katrina and Darren were over I got a little bit of people cheesecake and lots and lots of pets and loves. I hope they come back to visit me soon.

Airport Trail

Today was Grammy Pam's last day in town. She took me to the Airport Trail and I met so many new dog friends! I stopped and smelled all the new smells and ran really fast!

Mommy kept trying to get me to pose with Grammy Pam for pictures but I was too busy playing. Mommy needs to quit taking so many pictures and learn how to get her paws dirty!

FOOD!

All I think about is food! I've been trying to get Grammy Pam to give me some people food but she hasn't yet! I've done all my tricks and begged as hard as I could but Mommy keeps telling her "no".

FINALLY, mommy said she could share some of her sausage with me. I LOVE SAUSAGE!
